Mentoring Program
Here at Mouse House, we pride ourselves in continuing to create the Village where we want to work. Part of this is offering opportunities for folks new to filmmaking to have an on-ramp to the industry. We are excited to offer our Mentoring Program to a director with a short film script ready to start the process of making their film.
What We Offer:
GUIDANCE:
Founder and creative director, Missy Bell, will offer one-on-one guidance to each selected filmmaker. She will meet with mentees over coffee or via video call at every step of the process: giving assignments, answering questions, critiquing, and offering valuable insight and advice. Mentees will also receive one-on-one guidance from founder and producer, Michael Bell, on budgeting, crewing, and schedule.
FUNDRAISING:
Mouse House will guide mentees through the crowdfunding process, aiding in finding funding via multiple avenues, creating a successful campaign, and more.
EXPERIENCE:
Mentees will leave the program with a completed film – from screenplay drafts all the way onto the festival circuit. Mentees will be guided, advised, and shadowed, but never dictated to – ultimately, they will take their own vision from beginning to end and exit the program with a calling card for future projects, connections inside the industry, and a tangible way forward.
CREW:
Mouse House will give mentees access to experienced crew members via sponsorships from the community to pad day rates and upgrade catering and craft services. Other members of the Mouse Village are excited to offer their experienced hands to new projects – so many of the folks who are part of our Village want to help others up the industry ladder.
Sponsor the Membership Program:
Mouse House knows that filmmakers just starting out don’t have extra dollars to spend. It is our goal to offer this programming to qualified mentees at no cost to them. In order to do this, we depend on sponsorships from the community. Your full program sponsorship will cover the hours put in by our mentors and help to cover any additional production or marketing costs. In return, you or your business will receive Executive Producer credit on the films created by our program, an invitation to set, mention on all of our social media platforms as well as mentorship program publications.
If you’d like to provide a smaller gift to help fund the program, we will give you a shout-out on our social media platforms and you will be listed under the Special Thanks portion of completed film credits. Every dollar makes a difference.
You can sponsor the program via Venmo or by reaching out to discuss other options.
